This is a key operational position within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, responsible for overseeing the movement of materials and finished goods across a global supply chain network. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective logistics operations supporting both customers and suppliers internationally. This position sits within a wider Operations function that includes manufacturing, procurement, quality, engineering, and facilities, all working together to deliver high-value engineered products on time and to specification. Key Responsibilities Coordinate international inbound and outbound logistics activities across multiple regions Manage shipment planning, ensuring timely movement of goods in line with production and delivery schedules Liaise with freight providers to secure efficient and cost-effective transport solutions Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, import/export controls, and international trade requirements Prepare, verify and maintain accurate shipping documentation aligned with destination country standards Support freight purchase order creation and oversee related invoice reconciliation processes Monitor delivery performance against agreed KPIs and service levels Work closely with production and planning teams to align logistics with manufacturing schedules Maintain oversight of customs documentation and internal import/export records Support periodic audits relating to trade compliance and customs declarations Resolve cross-border logistics issues, including customs clearance challenges and transport delays Continuously review logistics processes to identify cost and efficiency improvements Person Specification Experience & Background Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics, supply chain, or freight coordination roles Strong background in international logistics operations within a manufacturing or engineering setting Proven experience managing import/export activity and global freight movements end-to-end Exposure to fast-paced, change-driven environments such as scale-up or transformation programmes Experience working with MRP/ERP systems for stock and movement tracking Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of international trade compliance, customs procedures, and shipping documentation Confident handling air, sea, and road freight logistics across multiple jurisdictions Ability to interpret and manage supply chain data within ERP/MRP systems Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills Analytical approach with strong problem-solving capability Experience managing supplier relationships and freight cost negotiations Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and tracking Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders Desirable Experience Supervisory or team leadership experience within logistics or supply chain Experience working within highly regulated manufacturing or engineering environments Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement initiatives Experience driving cost reduction and service improvement within logistics operations Additional Information Strong adherence to health & safety standards required at all times High level of integrity expected when handling sensitive or confidential information Role may require flexibility to respond to urgent logistics or production demands Skills: Logistics Supply Chain Global Freight Manufacturing Engineering Benefits: Excellent Benefits
