Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible Teacher to join a dedicated staff team at Lotus Academy, a specialist state‑funded school for pupils aged 6–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs located in north Sheffield.
Responsibilities
* Lead whole class lessons and group work in English, supporting students to develop strong communication and literacy skills.
* Deliver one‑to‑one support and assess attainment and progress of pupils.
* Ensure the safety of children and young people and facilitate their access to learning by responding to individual needs.
* Respond to the emotional, social and mental health needs of students, working in a trauma‑informed, relational environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues, families, external professionals and trust partners to provide a consistent, nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications
* Experienced English teacher with a specialism in English.
* Background in mainstream or specialist education settings.
* Knowledge of SEN is advantageous.
* Strong interpersonal and judgment skills regarding student attainment and progress.
