You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall warehouse and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. This includes the on-site warehousing at our Wigan site and the import & export of both raw materials and finished goods from the EU and beyond. You will work closely with internal colleagues and customers and a range of external suppliers and transport companies, ensuring that the Warehouse Team delivers in line with customer requirements. Accountabilities: • Lead the Warehouse team, ensuring compliance with Company, site and regulatory standards and that all processes and systems are operated in line with site health and safety, environmental and quality standards including BRC, ISO14001 & A2 Permit. Be a role model of health and safety culture across the team, aiming for a zero accidents warehouse operation. • Oversee all the key stages within the Logistics operation including goods in, goods out, stock management & control, stock integrity, housekeeping and general maintenance. Ensure stock damage is kept to a minimum via the ongoing development of appropriate work practices and control mechanisms. • Your area of Accountability includes Warehousing, Transport and Logistics at the Wigan site. • Lead procurement to source the right transport for our products for delivery in the UK, EU countries and beyond by planning and implementing a transport solution for our business ensuring agreed delivery targets are met. • Control our stock. Oversee all RM and FG storage, handling and distribution. Deliver accurate and timely monthly stock checks. • Become an expert in the import/export procedures following BREXIT in order to expedite swiftly any issues associated with blocked deliveries into the site or outward to customers. • Manage the costs involved in your area while maintaining safety and quality of the SC. • Manage and motivate the whole Warehouse team and deliver their development. • Make and own action plans to improve the overall Logistics performance. Skills and Attributes: • Ideally qualified to degree level in Logistics, BREXIT regulation and Business practices. • Experience in process optimisation, LEAN methodologies as well as organisational change management. • Experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP • 5 years of successful experience in leading a relevant SC function. • Experience in building and leading a team on delivering against KPIs. • Able to give strong “STAR” examples of results delivery in a complex environment.
