We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician in Kilsyth/Cumbernauld area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot various systems effectively. This role involves maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring optimal functionality, and providing excellent customer service. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with other team members to uphold safety standards and enhance operational efficiency. Responsible for ensuring that the depot, fixed and mobile assets, are fully availability and maintained to the highest standards through both planned preventative and unplanned reactive maintenance. Responsible for carrying out, overseeing & supervising all maintenance activities on site, including facilities, mobile and fixed plant, ensuring they are carried out in a safe, efficient and cost–effective manner. Main Responsibilities: · To comply with all H&S regulations, policies and procedures, including but not limited to, equipment installations, maintenance, daily inspections and report any operational issues or H&S incident. · To ensure that all set targets are met and all best practices and legal compliances for maintaining and servicing equipment are adhered to at all times. · To ensure that the depot is maintained allowing the facility to be operated at its optimum. · Keeps accurate maintenance records ensuring traceability and full compliance against all planned and unplanned maintenance works · Complete defect reports in a timely manner and report into the line manager. · To plan, follow up and document the preventive maintenance for the equipment. · To manage the relationship with maintenance subcontractors and suppliers. · To supervise all maintenance related subcontractor’s works on site. · To manage spare parts stock, ensuring optimal delivery and availability. · Commitment to Saica Natur in meeting and exceeding the KPIs. · To play an active role in the development and delivery of Health and Safety and Wellbeing, Environmental and Quality improvements and projects to the depots. Manage, develop and ensure training and Performance Appraisal Review is conducted to all direct reports. Specific Tasks: · To chase subcontractors for daily updates on equipment services. · To find safe and suitable alternatives for all repairs in order to reduce downtime. · To find spare parts alternatives and actively search for best value. · To evaluate current service subcontractors and equipment suppliers. · Compliance with all Saica Natur administrative policies. · To maintain industry sector knowledge, especially Best Available Techniques ( BAT) · To maintain and strive to develop further qualifications and training relevant to the role by following development and training plan as per line managers request. Qualifications: * Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineer qualifications – Essential * 3-5 years in maintenance roles. * Significant practical engineering experience * Experience of automated equipment including recycling machinery, sortation and conveyor systems * Experience of delivering planned preventative maintenance to industrial equipment and systems, but also their development and continuous improvement. * Experience with conducting and supervising industrial maintenance works, including contractor works. * In depth engineering knowledge and willingness to train and learn new skills * Experience in troubleshooting, fault finding, and repairs * Experience in interacting with different departments with strong team work skills, drive and engagement. * Experience in Continuous Improvement Process – Desirable Specific Training: * · Maximo – Desirable * · Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines – Desirable Management skills: * Excellent communications skills * Proven ability to operate in extreme high pressure situations, while displaying a high degree of flexibility and professionalism * Able to priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment, collaborate with operational leads to achieve the desired outcome. * Strong problem solving ability * Excellent customer facing skills / customer focus * Project Management experience to be able to support and manage continuous site improvements. * Strong forecasting and planning skills required to ensure that the depot runs safely, consistently and at the required production rate. The role consist on being part of the maintenance team on the sites, mostly based in Cumbernauld/Croy site and with frequent visits to our other depot in Scotland that is located in Dundee. We are looking to offer a Salary of between £40,000 and £45,000 depending on experience or skills. Preference given to Mechanical biased Engineer with experience in Industrial Maintenance (processing plants) and ideally waste management experience but not a eliminating factor. If the candidate also has experience and qualification in electricity we can discuss a % increase on salary but that is case by case. The working hours are typically 40 hours a week divided from Monday to Friday (typically 7am to 4pm) but the occasional overtime and weekend working is required when important maintenance/works are a business need
