The successful CAD Engineer will work to develop CAM programs for CNC machines.
The role will involve:
* Develop CAM programs for CNC machines.
* Choose the right tools and materials for manufacturing.
* Solve issues related to design and production processes.
* Identify ways to make manufacturing processes more efficient.
* Work with the production team to streamline workflows.
* Apply lean manufacturing techniques.
* Work with engineering, production, and quality teams.
* Provide training on CAD/CAM software and processes.
* Communicate design ideas and project updates to stakeholders.
* Keep accurate records of designs and process changes.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
* Prepare reports on project progress and outcomes
To be successful in this role of CAD Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
* How to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.
* Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
* Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
* Knowledge of CNC machining (including waterjet, lathe, mill, Press break)
* Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
* Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
