JOB TITLE: Procurement Advisor Pay rate: £135.35 PAYE per day / £18.29 PAYE per hour The role: Our client is seeking a Procurement Advisor to join their team in Flintshire on a fixed-term contract until January 2026, covering maternity leave. This role will support a wide range of procurement activities, providing market intelligence, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and government policy.You will initially be required onsite in Deeside for the first few weeks, moving to hybrid working once settled in. Key Responsibilities:
Determine appropriate commercial actions for requirements, including supply market analysis, strategy plans, and contract management plans. Ensure all contracts comply with procurement regulations and government policy. Draft Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), Invitations to Tender (ITTs), and contract documentation in line with MOD policy. Negotiate terms and pricing, place and manage contracts and amendments up to £2.5M. Engage with project engineers, finance teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Take part in supplier meetings, note-taking, and minute preparation. Contribute to wider DE&S / SDA initiatives as required. Essential:
Proven experience in procurement of goods or services. Understanding of the full procurement cycle, including tendering and contract management. Public sector procurement experience. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel). Willingness to work towards Level 4 MCIPS (with full training and study support provided). Ability to work onsite initially, then hybrid. Security Clearance: BPSS required. Desirable:
Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or working towards. Experience with Jaggar e-procurement system or CPNS system (not essential). Knowledge of CCS frameworks. Experience managing contracts across multiple categories (e.g. electronics, testing equipment supply, servicing, and maintenance). What the client offers:
