What you will do
* Chair statutory Looked After Child reviews, ensuring meetings are child-centred and compliant with the Children Act 1989 and IRO Handbook
* Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of care plans, ensuring timely progression towards permanence and improved outcomes
* Provide independent oversight and challenge to social work practice, escalating concerns regarding drift, delay, or safeguarding risks
* Ensure children and young people’s wishes and feelings are fully captured, advocated for, and reflected in care planning
Person specification
* Qualifications include a degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work
* Post‑qualifying training in childcare, safeguarding, or leadership being desirable
* Registered with Social Work England
* Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 / 2004
* Strong working knowledge of Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010
* Strong working knowledge of the IRO Handbook and statutory guidance
