We are looking for an Health and Safety Advisor with experience in Transport and Logistics to join our team at our head office in York.
As a Health and Safety Advisor, your role and remit will be to ensure day-to-day HSE compliance by managing accident, incident, near miss and don't walk by investigations and mitigation. In addition your focus will be on Transportation and Logistics, working on haulier engagement and implementing best practice.
Role Details:
• Annual salary £32,800 - £41,100 dependent on skills and experience. Plus an annual on target bonus of 5%
• Role based: New Lane, Huntington, York, YO32 9PT
• Contract type: Permanent
• Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.
• You will be provided with a hire car for travelling
In this role you will be required to:
• Lead accident/incident and near miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are concluded and follow up closure of all issues.
• Monitor and drive engagement with hauliers.
• Identify and Implement best practice for transportation and Logistics within Portakabin.
• Support safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards.
• Communicate and reinforce HSE processes and procedures.
• Develop and engage sound relationships with internal and external customers.
• Carry out site audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
• Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
• Ensure that all necessary documentation and information on all matters of HSE is provided in a timely and complete manner.
Our Ideal Candidate
• NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations, processes and procedures.
• Experience in Transportation and Logistics
• Competent in using Microsoft packages including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Able to analyse and present data.
