Hours: 14 hours per week, 8 am - 10 pm shifts - Overtime shifts also available

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking One Part-Time Rehabilitation Assistants to join our dedicated team working with a gentleman who has an acquired brain injury. The role involves providing support with daily living activities, community engagement, personal care, and managing challenging behaviour. Successful candidates will work under the guidance of the case manager, assistant case manager, and the multi-disciplinary therapy team.
The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in a care or support environment, demonstrating assertiveness, a genuine passion for providing care, and the ability to engage in friendly banter with clients. Excellent communication skills are paramount, and a full clean driving license is a prerequisite for all applicants. This role demands individuals with a high degree of confidence, initiative, and capabilities in lone working. Candidates should embody trustworthiness and a naturally caring disposition, with a proven track record of effectively supporting individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
· Implement the care plan, therapy exercises, and guidelines.
· Support the client in accessing social and recreational activities.
· Drive the client to various venues and appointments, using the client's wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
· Assist the client during episodes of challenging behaviour.
· Provide personal care, assistance with transfers, and positional changes.
· Solve day-to-day problems with members of the professional team.
· Liaise with the case management team and report any concerns promptly.
· Complete daily shift notes.
· Ensure timely completion of allocated training.
· Advocate for the client when necessary.
· Ensure the client's safety, meet his needs, and communicate any concerns to the management team.
· Perform light cleaning of the support worker area and some of the client's equipment (as outlined in the Home Manual).
· Attend team meetings, team training sessions, and monthly supervision meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Essential
· Full clean driving license (vehicle provided)
· Clear DBS check
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in a care or support setting
· Experience working with adults with challenging behaviour
· Experience delivering personal care to adults with additional needs
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to problem-solve and work well under pressure
· 2 professional references
Desirable
· Experience working with, and/or knowledge of acquired brain injury and its effects on individuals
· Experience driving a large automatic vehicle
