A well-established and expanding consultancy is seeking a Building Control Surveyor to lead their new Building Safety Act (BSA) Principal Design Team in Sheffield.

The Building Control Surveyor's Role
As the Building Control Surveyor, you will lead the newly formed BSA Principal Design team, oversee high-profile projects, and ensure all designs comply with the latest safety regulations. You will manage a team of specialists and provide strategic advice to clients on meeting their obligations under the Building Safety Act.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the BSA Principal Design team, ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act regulations.
* Oversee delivery of Principal Design services, ensuring compliance with safety standards and risk management procedures.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance on design and regulatory matters.
* Liaise with project teams to ensure effective communication and implementation of safety measures.
* Develop internal policies and procedures aligned with BSA requirements.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with statutory requirements.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualification in Building Control, Architecture, or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in Building Control or Principal Design roles.
* Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act and its implications.
* Experience leading teams and managing complex projects.
* Background in risk management and compliance within the built environment.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
