This is a full-time, long-term position required to start as soon as possible (ASAP). The school is seeking to appoint a Teacher of French who is passionate about languages and committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. About the Role: As a Teacher of French, you will be responsible for fostering a love of the French language and culture among students. Your primary focus will be on delivering effective teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure students make excellent progress. Key responsibilities include: Delivering effective teaching, learning, and assessment to students in French across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring they make good progress. Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in French. Guiding students to reflect on their progress and effectively use feedback to develop strategies for improvement. Being accountable for students' attainment, progress, and outcomes, including setting realistic and ambitious targets. Setting clear goals and learning objectives for both individual lessons and for student progress over time. Creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes cultural understanding and effective language acquisition. Supporting students to develop their confidence in using French in both written and spoken forms. Preparing students effectively for their GCSE French examinations. Contributing to the wider school community, which may include supporting language clubs or other extracurricular activities. Candidate Profile: The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about French and dedicated to student success. The ideal candidate will possess: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred. Applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience teaching French or appropriate language qualifications will also be considered. A strong command of the French language. Experience teaching French at secondary school level, ideally across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with students and colleagues. A commitment to student progress and well-being.
