Maintenance Surveyor Fire Safety
Working in our properties across Hertfordshire, Essex and North London with occasional travel to Norfolk and Suffolk
Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw Monday to Friday)
Salary up to £50,000 based on skills, qualifications and experience

Typical day as a Fire Safety Surveyor
5. Conduct pre- and post-inspections of fire risk actions completed by contractors and colleagues, covering a patch across Hertfordshire, Essex, and North London to ensure high-quality work for customers and colleagues
6. Provide technical advice and support to trades, maintenance managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure a compliant, cost-effective, and high-quality service
7. Manage contracts and monitor progress against building works schedules, using customer insight to help deliver on service promises
8. Ensure all works meet health and safety standards, with zero tolerance for non-compliance.
9. Oversee Fire Safety Contractors, including Fire Alarms, AOV Systems, and any related systems or issues
10. Manage Passive Fire Safety Contractors for fire door replacements, remediations, and compartmentation/firestopping projects, and oversee yearly asbestos reinspection’s across the region

You have
11. Building surveying experience including property condition and Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions and specifying remedial works for active and passive projects.
12. CIOB Level 6 Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent approved.
13. Ideally hold RICS, CIOB professional registration or working towards this.
14. Current knowledge of building repairs, construction and safety.
15. Able to manage, control budgets and expenditure.
16. A self-starter approach, able to work unsupervised to manage your own patch, working commercially to deliver our programmes of work on time and to budget.

17. Working Monday to Friday, you’ll shape your own diary around work, customers’ and your own commitments
18. This is a hybrid role, so you’ll typically spend a day or 2 a week doing admin that can be from home or a local office and the rest of the time out and about in your patch
19. You are confident using technology for updating records, budget and KPI management, completing online learning and collaborating with other colleagues
20. You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that
21. You'll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
