Title: MITER Maintainer

Overview
This is a 12‑month contract position for a MITER Maintainer based onsite at Woodbridge – RLC Stores (IP123LU). The role requires 40 hours per week and involves proactively maintaining a fleet of military and commercial MHE and plant vehicles, as well as associated ancillaries, within their engineering capabilities.
Responsibilities
* Service and maintenance of diesel, MOTS and electrical MHE and plant vehicles and ancillary equipment.
* Liaise with the controller and customer on expected work, clarifying timelines and costs.
* Identify the root cause of breakdowns and procure the correct parts cost‑effectively, utilizing available resources and technical teams when necessary.
* Inspect and check work during progression, ensuring equipment functions satisfactorily and safely before returning to the customer.
* Identify any further required work, informing the customer of potential costs and maximizing revenue opportunities for damaged equipment.
* Complete all related job and service documentation correctly, obtaining required signatures and documents from the customer.
Qualifications
* Level 3 apprenticeship (C&G or NVQ Technical Certificate and Functional Skills) in a related engineering function such as Vehicle Systems Maintenance, Vehicle Electrics, Electronics, Vehicle Diagnostics, Automotive Engineering, Hydraulics, or Power Train.
* Significant experience working in a related engineering role (Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Plant Fitter) or equivalent formal apprenticeship qualification.
* Successful candidates attaining Sponsored Reservist Status (trained for the UK Ministry of Defence’s Army Reserve) will have the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.
