We are looking to recruit a Bank Occupational Therapist with experience in Palliative Care to join our enthusiastic rehab team.
Contract: Bank
Salary: £20.20 per hour, Band 6 Pay point 1, Competency Based Framework
Working Pattern: Ad hoc to cover service needs between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Standard/Enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. All staff are expected to undertake safeguarding training and adhere to safeguarding policies, in line with statutory requirements.

Main duties of the job
* Contribute to the effective delivery of Occupational Therapy services to inpatients and outpatients.
* Carry out clinical duties in accordance with hospice policies and standards.
* Work in accordance with professional Codes of Conduct and collaborate with the wider MDT.
* Deliver specialist clinical services as a Bank Occupational Therapist.
* Lead a service across two sites, with occasional travel and cross-site cover.

Job responsibilities
The Bank Occupational Therapist will:
* Assess and develop occupational therapy treatment plans for patients with palliative or long-term conditions.
* Lead and facilitate timely discharges in collaboration with the MDT.
* Build relationships with stakeholders to promote effective rehabilitation services.
* Support student and assistant practitioner learning.
* Maintain compliance with Care Quality Commission standards.
* Facilitate group sessions and contribute to service development.
* Use incident reporting systems and support data collection efforts.
* Maintain professional development in line with HCPC requirements.
Person Specification
The Bank Occupational Therapist will be able to:
* Have experience working in palliative care or with palliative care needs.
* Possess relevant Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills.
* Manage a complex caseload, assess risks, and facilitate discharges.
* Support and develop others, including students.
* Prioritize work effectively and communicate clearly.
* Work independently and as part of a team.
* Understand CQC requirements and work with hospice IT systems.
* Travel between sites and into the community.
* Demonstrate the organization’s values with a compassionate approach.
Experience
* Post-registration clinical experience, including working with long-term conditions or palliative care.
* Experience in diverse settings, including community work and lone working.
* Experience in safe moving and handling assessments and management.
Qualifications
* Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.

This role requires a DBS check in accordance with legal requirements. The cost is covered by the hospice.
