Responsible for ensuring the administrative and clerical work related to patient care
are competently managed. To provide and effecting day-to-day clerical support to
facilitate the smooth running of the ward alongside the ward manager and senior
colleagues. This job role covers clerical duties meeting and greeting staff, patients
and visitors answering the telephone and dealing with all enquires.
Ensure that all paper and computer stored data surrounding a patient episode is
completed accurately and promptly. Input, update and monitor patient confidential
information on Careflow alongside other Trust systems.
To deal efficiently and in professional manner enquires from both patients and staff
internally and externally.

Ensure notes are in appropriate condition, all results/reports, nursing notes filed
and TTO filled in, Notes are booked/tracked out to appropriate source in keeping
with patient confidentially procedures.
* Assist nursing staff with the discharge process (chasing TTO's, equipment etc) to
allow nurses more patient facing time.
* File chronologically any loose notes located with the case notes.
* Produce documentation for patients detailing admission and any other requested
information in conjunction with the trust confidentially policies for insurance
companies, NHS organisations or government agencies.
* Responsible for the updating and maintaining of the inpatient transfer list in order
for the ward co-ordinator to organise the admissions.
* For elective patients ensure that all patient files are obtained ready for the patient's
admission
* Act in role of fire warden if appropriate training provided
