Pathology Department, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee Associate Practitioner, Band 4 Duration - Fixed Term/Secondment until 31 March 2026 Applications are invited for a fixed term/secondment (until 31 March 2026) full-time Associate Practitioner post; we are looking for an individual to join our team, working in a busy department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, which provides a full range of diagnostic pathology services to NHS Tayside. Dundee is known as the ‘City of Discovery’ for its culture, which includes the spectacular new V&A design museum on Dundee’s Riverside. The successful applicant will be required to carry out routine laboratory duties including computer data entry, chemical preparation, assisting with specimen dissection, paraffin wax embedding and microtomy, the department undertakes 25,000 surgical and autopsy pathology requests per annum, in addition 2000 diagnostic cytology requests on behalf of NHS Tayside. Candidates should have completed a relevant HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF 7) or have proven equivalent Laboratory experience and competencies, should have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake extensive training and completion of competence based assessments. The Department is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory No. 8682.
