Hays are delighted to be supporting a leading housing association, dedicated to providing safe, affordable homes and exceptional services across the West Midlands, in recruiting a Damp & Mould Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. Our client ideally seek a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS or MCIOB) to fill this position, but will consider those non-chartered with extensive experience.
Your new role
In this role you’ll take ownership of damp and mould prevention and remediation services, ensuring tenant satisfaction andpliance with all relevant standards. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting pre and post inspection surveys to diagnose and resolve disrepair or damp and mould issues.
2. Producing detailed schedules of works using NHF Schedule of Rates.
3. Maintaining accurate records and certifications for allpleted works.
4. Supporting damp and mouldplaint cases with technical reports and evidence of remedial actions.
5. Collaborating with Contract Management and other teams to deliver a high-quality repairs service.
This is a Monday to Friday position with flexibility offered based on hours of work, and hybrid working.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will possess:
6. Proven surveying experience in the housing sector, and ideally be Chartered (MRICS or MCIOB).
7. We will also consider non-chartered candidates with extensive experience in building surveying and property maintenance.
8. A HHSRS qualification and strong technical expertise in property maintenance.
9. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Environmental Protection Act 1990, Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018, and Social Housing Regulation Act 2023.
10. Excellentmunication skills and a tenant-focused approach.
