General Labourer Location: Loch Ewe, Aultbea, Ross-Shire The role: We are seeking applications for the position of General Labourer at our OFD (Oil Fuel Depot) at Loch Ewe, Aultbea, for a period of three months. Reporting to management, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the grounds are maintained to a suitable standard in keeping with a top tier COMAH site, with a strong focus on ensuring no harm to people or the environment. The main part of this role is bund repair work, as well as other work listed below in responsibilities. Responsibilities: * Routine grounds maintenance of the Depot; including but not limited to, internal and external tank bunds and roadsides, to ensure vegetative growth, including grass, is kept under control. * Weeding, including the application of appropriate weed killer (ensuring protection of the environment and wildlife). * Clearing of Depot drainage systems, building gutters and down pipes. This may include minor repairs within the competency of the post holder. * Reinstate the work area after completing tasks. * Keeping line managers informed of progress. * Reporting of equipment defects. * Report any observations of damage, eg; fencing. * Carry out any reasonable task as requested by Depot Management. * Operation of all relevant Grounds Maintenance Equipment, including (but not limited to); Strimming of grass, Grass cutters/mowers. * Perform physical tasks, such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials. * Site maintenance, ensuring the clean up of debris to maintain a tidy site. Remuneration: The salary is £23,493 per annum plus paid overtime, and the hours are 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Friday (37 hours per week). The candidate: You will need to have experience in completing general labouring tasks preferably working within a high hazard site, COMAH regulated with an in- date CSCS General Labourers card, or equivalent with the relevant experience. Able to demonstrate a safe working record, compliant with systems and procedures, and can maintain a calm and effective approach in difficult/emergency situations
