An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to lead the Medicines Safety services at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. You will be one of four associate directors of pharmacy reporting directly to the Chief Pharmacist.
The role is mainly based at Royal Preston Hospital, with opportunities to work at Chorley Hospital or off-site.
We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic pharmacist with senior pharmacy management and service delivery experience who can lead, develop, and motivate teams to ensure high standards and represent pharmacy both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategically lead the Medicines Management team within Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
2. Develop and implement the trust Medicines Optimisation Strategy, aligning with the ICS Medicines Optimisation Strategy.
3. Represent the Trust in Medicines Safety, Education, Governance, Risk, and Compliance at local and national levels.
4. Support the Director of Pharmacy and senior leadership in delivering strategic plans and service improvements.
5. Oversee six specialist functions: Medicines Education, Medicines Safety, Medicines Governance, EPMA and IT, Research and Clinical Trials, and the Administration Team.
6. Ensure operational leadership, financial control, and strategic growth of these functions.
7. Lead Medicines Education across the organization.
