CNC Machinist / CNC Operator (1 Week Early/1 Week Late)
First Achieve Engineering are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Operator to join a well-established engineering business specialising in high-quality, low-volume manufacturing.

The Role
You will be responsible for manufacturing precision components and sub-assemblies using a range of CNC and manual machine tools, working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Set, program, and operate CNC milling or turning machines
* Manufacture components in a low-volume, high-quality production environment
* Work to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
* Modify or manufacture tooling including jigs, fixtures, and moulds
* Inspect and verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment
* Achieve production targets in line with job requirements
* Accurately log work times using ERP systems
* Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
* Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
* Identify hazards and promote safe working practices within the workshop
Requirements
Essential:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a CNC machining environment
* Proven experience operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
* Ability to read and interpret ISO engineering drawings
* Experience working to tight tolerances
* Competent using measuring equipment (micrometres, Vernier callipers, etc.)
* Basic IT skills
* Understanding of 5S principles
Desirable:
* Time-served apprenticeship
* Experience with CNC programming, setting, and operating
* Familiarity with controls such as:
o Hurco (Winmax)
o Fanuc
o Mazatrol (Mazak)
o Siemens
