Do you like dogs?
If the answer is not something along the lines of, "I absolutely LOVE dogs", then keep scrolling to the next job.
We are looking for someone very special to join our existing team of self-employed sub-contactor dog walkers, someone who lives within 5 miles of Fareham and really, really wants to spend their days outdoors, walking small groups of dogs (4 maximum at a time) throughout the week.
Holty Paws was formed in 2018 and we've built a great reputation for providing excellent, interactive dog walks that all our clients love. As we continue to grow, we are looking for highly committed dog lovers who share our passion to give the dogs THE very best time when they are out on a walk with us.
To join our team, you MUST have the following as a starter -
You must have a full driving licence, a fully insured car with up-to-date tax and MOT that is capable of transporting 4 dogs on seats (we do NOT use vans, we do NOT use crates), with them wearing harnesses and tethers to keep them safe and you legal. There is quite a lot of driving involved in this role, that's why you need to live locally.
It goes without saying that you must be prepared for you and your car to get very muddy and wet on occasions as this work will be outdoors. Naturally, you must be physically fit and happy to work outdoors in absolutely all weather conditions. You will also need excellent time-keeping skills and a positive, happy disposition because not all days are 'a walk in the park'.
What you'll do –
Our focus is delivering exceptional dog walks, keeping them safe but also ensuring they have an enriching and fun experience each time they are out with us.
We walk dogs from as early as 8:00 am, Monday to Friday, but you can choose your availability to us (within reason). The current requirement is to complete two, or three group walks of up to 4 dogs each per day. Weekend walks may also be available for those that want to, we also have a few dogs that have to walk solo, too.
About You -
You must LOVE dogs of every shape and size. We engage with them and interact a lot on our dog walks, and they LOVE it. We are all about enriching their lives, delivering all this with a happy, caring, positive, 'can do' approach.
The work WILL be challenging (both physically, mentally and even emotionally) at times so you MUST be resilient and although we are always on hand to support and advise you, we need someone who is able to think on their feet to ensure the welfare of the dogs and the public at all times. Our owners must feel completely confident entrusting their pets to us, knowing they will be happy and well cared for. Whilst you are working, your focus must entirely be on the animals under your charge.
We will give you one-to-one training (unpaid), shadowing an established team member until you are fully confident to take responsibility for the dogs under your care. You will have to complete an animal pet first aid course and take a basic DBS-check, these being at your own expense.
If you really think this could be your ideal job, let us know why we should pick you.
Over 95% of applicants get rejected, so only apply if you really want this.
We will only respond to those applicants who show they are serious about this work and who successfully present themselves as good candidates.
