Overview
We are looking for two motivated, caring individuals interested in being a part of our Housing Options Team.
Responsibilities
* Assess new Homeless and Home Search applications and award the relevant priority banding in accordance with the Council’s Allocation Policy.
* Undertake checks on all active applications to ensure existing qualifying criteria remains.
* Liaise with partners and other professional bodies.
* Deal with all supporting evidence and documentation (in all formats) ensuring they are managed on appropriate IT systems.
* Deal and resolve customer enquiries via email, phone, letters or in‑person in a quick and professional manner.
* Perform all administration duties, producing letters, printing and scanning accurately and efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications
You will have effective IT, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to carry out needs assessments and organise your own workload. You must be empathic, sensitive but have a practical attitude towards dealing with service users who have chaotic lifestyles or multiple social problems. A working knowledge of housing related welfare rights and benefit issues is desirable but not essential.
