About The Role
As a Laundry Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every person working here understands that our residents are individuals with their own stories. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining a high standard of order and tidiness in the laundry area, ensuring residents’ clothing is clean and well-maintained. You will wash, dry, iron, and repair items as needed, manage linen stocks, and report issues to the Senior Housekeeper. Your environment will reflect your attention to detail, safe, comfortable, and welcoming.
You will fold, separate, and redistribute linen and clothing with kindness and pride, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard. Your efforts will help create a well-maintained environment that contributes to residents' happiness and health.
We seek someone with experience, though training will be provided. Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential. Your positive energy, ability to communicate effectively, and considerate nature are vital. You should be able to listen as well as give instructions, always demonstrating kindness and thoughtfulness in interactions with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond appropriately. All staff will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and be able to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
Full training will be provided, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will have access to various benefits supporting your physical and psychological well-being, including:
* Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG check.
* Free uniform.
* Nutritious meals during shifts of eight hours or more.
