We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Prototype Supply Coordinator to support multiple prototype production build programmes. This role requires excellent supplier management skills, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment where deadlines are critical.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all delivery promises are logged within one week of receipt.
* Achieve an 87% parts‑availability target for the first vehicle of each schedule by MRD (More great products faster).
* Ensure zero build stoppages across all prototype builds (excluding VB’s).
* Ensure zero Point of Fit (POF) losses across all prototype builds (excluding VB’s).
* Ensure all collections and shipments for prototype parts are on time, using the most cost‑efficient transport method.
* Negotiate delivery dates with suppliers to support multiple prototype build programmes.
* Support engineering teams exporting material to suppliers in line with prototype build requirements.
* Negotiate production slots with internal toolrooms and 3D‑printing operations.
* Visit key suppliers to review delivery performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Adopt agile ways of working, raising and removing obstacles to ensure on‑time supply.
* Present delivery status updates to senior management in relevant forums.
About You
Ideally, you’ll bring experience managing a portfolio of suppliers — experience with prototype parts is a bonus. Knowledge of booking transport is helpful (though a dedicated transport team is available).
