About the role

Board Trustee

Impact Family Services have been successfully supporting families for over 25 years.

The future is very exciting, and we are looking to enhance our board of Trustees by recruiting several new Trustees who are committed to helping deliver our strategy and achieve future growth.

Our achievements in supporting families are excellent but we have much more to do!

About Impact Family Services

We are passionate about education to help break the cycle of abuse and will invest further in 2024-2027 to develop and deliver educational programmes in businesses, communities and in schools.

We will continue to deliver fantastic art-based creative programmes to help young children in supporting their journey in having experienced conflict at home.

We will continue to support victims of domestic abuse and support them through their journey, and we will continue to support young people (12–18-year-olds) who have experienced abuse.

The charity has an experienced and dedicated staff team whose knowledge, understanding and expertise saves lives and positively changes family relationships. The team are led by a highly experienced CEO and supported by a fantastic team of volunteers.

Ideal candidate

The charity would welcome applications from candidates with the following characteristics: -

1. Demonstrable track record as a senior executive or business owner
2. Highly respected in their field
3. Excellent cross-sector networking and able to bring connections to the charity
4. Strategic thinker with leadership skills
5. A keen interest in supporting young people to achieve their potential
6. The willingness to lead or support in subgroup activity

In addition, the following would be desirable but not essential: -

7. Experience as a Chair / Board Member / Trustee
8. Specific skills in the areas of Education and Training, Marketing and Comms, HR, Health


Time Commitment

The Board holds meetings every 8 weeks, for up to 2 hours. The time commitment between calls and meetings is likely to average 0.5 days a month. This post is non-remunerated, but expenses may be covered.
