Senior Assistant Psychologist - Community Partnerships (Maidstone / West Kent)
Location: Maidstone / West Kent and surrounding area. Occasional travel to our Northampton site
Salary: £30,021 per annum
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

St Andrew’s is a Charity Commissioned by the NHS to provide specialist mental healthcare for people with complex and challenging mental health needs. The Community Partnerships team develops and delivers community-based services. This year the organisation’s CQC rating is Good.
Role purpose
This service is part of our Community Partnerships Division. In partnership with the National Probation Service (NPS), St Andrew’s Healthcare delivers Community Sentence Treatment Requirements as part of a Mental Health Treatment Requirement initiative. The post is to work as an Assistant Psychologist embedded in probation offices under the supervision of qualified psychologists from St Andrew’s Healthcare.
Responsibilities
* Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Criminal Justice System (CJS).
* Provide psychological assessment and psychological interventions under supervision, working independently according to a plan agreed with the supervising psychologist and within MHTRs and St Andrew’s policies.
* Facilitate effective communication within the NPS and other agencies (primary care services, specialist mental health services, social care and third sector services) to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications and experience
* Desirable: experience working as an Assistant Psychologist.
* Relevant Master’s degree in psychology.
* Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (GMBSP).
Location and travel
The role will be located across Maidstone and West Kent, offering face-to-face interventions, with some remote sessions available. Travel outside of Maidstone/West Kent and to main training locations is reimbursed separately and is typically required.
