Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and engage Production Team Leaders and Production Operators.
* Ensure the daily production plan is adhered to and achieved.
* Carry out management duties including recruiting, training, planning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Deploy Engineering Craft and Quality initiatives to achieve metrics.
* Control departmental budget through daily flex and outwork management.
* Use Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing tools such as SPC, FMEAs, 6S, and Lean Sigma structured problem solving techniques to drive improvements.
Requirements
* Experience in a leadership role within a heavy engineering environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, steel, metal manufacturing).
* Experience managing large teams.
* Experience working within a unionised environment.
