Technical ManagerLocation: Scarborough (Office-Based)Salary: £45,000£50,000 + Discretionary BonusHours: MonThurs: 8:30am5:00pm | Fri: 8:30am2:30pmStaffpower Group is partnering with a leading maritime organisation to recruit a Technical Manager to support and strengthen their expanding operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled professionalideally with marine or vessel experienceto play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, safety, and compliance.About the RoleAs Technical Manager, youll work closely with the wider operations team to maintain technical integrity across the fleet, assist with audits, and support emergency preparedness. You'll also be a point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders including ship crews, engineers, clients, and regulatory bodies.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the DPA with up-to-date documentation for emergency response readinessAct as Deputy Designated Person Ashore (DDPA)Provide technical support to shore-based engineers and vessel crewsDeliver monthly technical fleet updatesAssist with internal audits and inspections on MOL vesselsAddress and monitor audit non-conformitiesConduct vessel visits and shipyard inspectionsManage supplier and third-party service accountsAttend client and regulatory meetings (Class, Flag, etc.)Oversee daily technical management of the fleetAdminister the MARAD Planned Maintenance System (PMS)Candidate ProfileDegree, diploma or equivalent in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (consideration given to those working toward qualification)Minimum 3 years of experience in technical ship management or engineering, preferably in offshore wind, gas, or oilConfident liaising with Class and Flag authorities to ensure complianceStrong knowledge of marine systems (propulsion, HVAC, electrical)Experience with Caterpillar engines (preferred)Skilled in interpreting technical drawings for maintenance planningProven ability to conduct fair and insightful vessel inspections and engineer appraisalsStrong leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams and work scopesWhats On OfferCompetitive base salary: £45,000£50,000Discretionary performance-based bonus20 days annual leave + statutory holidaysAdditional leave accrual: up to 5 extra days per year of serviceSpecial leave (e.g., bereavement and birthday leave)Company-funded social eventsGenerous company pension planSupportive and collaborative working cultureInfrequent travel requiredIf youre a technically minded professional looking to make a real impact in the marine sector, wed love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
