A well-established and award-winning building services contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join its growing team. With over four decades of successful operation across the Midlands, the company specialises in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Position: Commercial Gas Engineer
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + Van + Package
Contract Type: Permanent
Start date: December/ January
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial gas and heating systems. Working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service, maintain, and repair commercial gas appliances, boilers, burners, and associated plant.
2. Diagnose and rectify system faults to ensure minimal downtime for clients.
3. Undertake installation, commissioning, and testing of new commercial heating systems.
4. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive breakdowns.
5. Ensure compliance with gas safety legislation and all relevant building regulations.
6. Complete detailed service reports, documentation, and certification.
7. Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to meet project deadlines.
8. Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements:
9. Valid Commercial Gas ACS qualifications
10. Demonstrable experience working with commercial gas and heating systems in commercial environments.
11. Strong understanding of system controls, operation, and maintenance.
12. Full UK driving licence.
13. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
14. Ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
15. Experience with mechanical and plumbing systems
16. Familiarity with BMS controls and energy-efficient heating technologies.
