The role is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Data Centre facility, ensuring client MSA & SLA's are achieved.
Main Function
1. Data Centre Management:
o Comply with working methods to achieve all SLA's and MSA's.
o Manage data centre infrastructure to provide a concurrently maintainable, cost-effective system supporting 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime.
2. Compliance:
o Maintain compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
o Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement).
o Monitor H&S and take corrective actions to meet statutory compliance, SLA's, and good business practices.
3. Critical System Management:
o Ensure planned and corrective maintenance is managed to meet customer MSA's and SLA's.
o Maintain agreed PUE levels through effective working methods.
o Accurately report and finalize tasks within agreed formats and timelines.
4. Data Centre Ethics:
o Ensure compliance with industry best practices.
o Maintain data centre facilities standards and cleaning standards.
Key Performance Areas
* Preventative and reactive maintenance of all building infrastructure systems.
* Coordinate maintenance of generators, UPS’s, Chiller plant, air-conditioning, switchgear, etc.
* Maintain Building Management Systems and monitor all equipment.
* Manage power reticulation of all equipment.
* Oversee new installations and supervise all Building Services Contractors.
* Ensure reliability and maintenance of all building equipment and infrastructure.
* Perform first-line repairs on electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
* Respond to logged calls such as power trips, installations, leaks, etc., based on priority.
* Ensure all control of works procedures are followed.
* Conduct building inspections and audits.
* Maintain accurate records of activities, equipment status, and parameters.
* Be proactive, helpful, use initiative, and willing to work extended hours and travel as needed.
