Position Description
Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting students, faculty and other constituents to navigate the academic procedures and policies set forth by the office and the University. This position will assist office staff with day-to-day office functions related to student records and registration.
Education Required
N/A
Education Preferred
A minimum of two years of post high school education.
Experience Required
Previous experience working in a professional office environment.

• Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office), and a willingness to learn other programs/systems
• Professional phone etiquette and customer service
• Ability to alphabetize, file, and record information accurately
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strict adherence to confidentiality and FERPA in accordance with University policies and legal requirements
Special Working Conditions
Preferred ability to lift approximately 25 pound boxes or large bags of shredded paper.

Primary Duties
1. Answer phones and assist visitors to the office; Accurately and professionally address students, faculty, parents and other inquiries related to academic policies and procedures as appropriate.
2. Distribute and file forms and correspondence.
3. Shred documents according to the cycle of appropriate record retention.
4. Scan and index documents, including but not limited to changes of grades and academic transcripts.
5. Assist office members with special projects, general office workflow and data maintenance.
6. Query and update student education records in Banner, including demographic information, registration and academic history.
7. Maintain knowledge of native Banner, Self-Service Banner, Falcon Link, and Degree Works to help answer questions from students, faculty and parents.
8. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Secondary Duties
1. Assist with special events, such as new student registration.
2. Assist with office correspondence and mail.
3. Provide back-up support to other areas of the office as needed.
4. Other duties as assigned.
