Role: Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Salary: Up to £45K (Dependent on experience)
Contract type: Full-time. We offer flexibility of working hours and Remote options.

What you will be doing:
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will play a crucial role in performing testing of new and existing features. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining test plans, test cases and test scripts for various types of testing. Executing tests, identifying defects, and working closely within a squad as an embedded tester to drive delivery at pace with quality.
At Signable, QA is an integral part of our product team. Our testers contribute to feature planning, sprint rituals, and product improvements and are embedded into a squad.You’ll work alongside developers, QA engineers, and product managers in an Agile squad, helping ensure quality across our features from test planning to release validation.
You will utilise specified test tools and frameworks to execute and maintain manual test scripts as well as writing and executing automated tests, ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of quality.
You will also be involved in non-functional testing including accessibility testing, helping to guarantee system stability and reliability.
Collaboration will be a vital aspect of your role, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders using agile methods. Working independently with supportive direction, you will deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
* Testing new and existing features through manual, exploratory, and automated approaches.
* Writing and maintaining robust, readable, and reusable test cases, plans, and scripts.
* Leading execution and documentation of tests across functional, regression, integration, API, and non-functional layers
* Expanding our automation coverage using Cypress, Supertest, and related tooling
* Awareness of accessibility testing to ensure software meets accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1
* Performing API validation and monitoring using modern tools (Postman, Beeceptor, etc.)
* Identifying and documenting defects clearly, contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
* Participate in agile ceremonies like stand-up, sprint planning, refinement and retros.
* Continuously learn and apply best practices in software testing, with avenues to explore automation testing methodologies.
* Maintaining documentation related to testing activities.
* Helping evolve our custom test framework and QA best practices.
Requirements:
* Demonstrable experience in a QA/Software testing role (as a mid-level role, you might have a few years of experience or more).
* Confidence to own your work, but be comfortable knowing when to ask for support and guidance.
* Strong understanding of agile development and shift-left principles.
* Hands-on experience with Cypress or similar for web test automation.
* Confidence using CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab pipelines).
* Comfortable owning features and planning your own testing strategies.
* Awareness of different types of testing, such as functional, regression, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing.
* Awareness of software development life cycle and software testing best practices.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and methodologies.
* Good communication skills to articulate findings and collaborate with teams.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and execute test cases.
* Strong analytical & problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Passionate about ensuring the best software quality.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software quality assurance.
Useful Skills / And a massive bonus if:
* Exposure to microservices or distributed architecture testing.
* Automation testing frameworks (Such as Cypress, Supertest & Postman) and other QA tools (Qase, Beeceptor etc).
* Contributions to QA tooling, frameworks, or documentation
* Previous experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
