Overview
We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing and construction, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial properties.
Duties
* Install roofing systems using a variety of materials including shingles, metal, and flat roofing systems
* Conduct inspections of roofs to identify potential issues or necessary repairs
* Perform maintenance tasks to prolong the life of roofing systems
* Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and installing roofing materials
* Fabricate components as needed for custom roofing solutions
* Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications
* Follow schematics and blueprints to accurately execute roofing plans
* Adhere to safety protocols while working at heights and with heavy materials
Requirements
* Proven experience in roofing or a related construction field
* Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
* Familiarity with carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and heavy lifting techniques
* Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
* Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Excellent physical fitness for working at heights and performing manual labour
* A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites
