Our Stantec HR UK team is a passionate group of HR professionals supporting almost 4,000 engineers, scientists and functional specialists across the region. We are now offering an excellent 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to join us, based in Warrington, Reading or Bristol, providing maternity cover. You’ll be part of a wider HR function located across multiple UK offices, working within an established and collaborative team in a global, publicly listed professional services organisation with strong growth ambitions across UKI.
In this role, you will support designated business lines by delivering comprehensive generalist HR support to managers and employees. You will be the first point of contact for employee relations queries, offering timely and accurate advice across a range of HR matters including recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance management and learning initiatives.
You will lead on employee relations cases—such as performance management, disciplinaries and grievances—working closely with and under the guidance of the Head of HR Client Services. Collaboration will be central to your work, as you liaise with HR colleagues and other departments both in the UK and globally on HR data, approvals, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives. Your insight and feedback will help shape more efficient ways of working across the team.
Your work will influence decision‑making, support organisational growth and contribute to a positive, high‑performing culture across the UK&I region.
You will ideally hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources Management, Business, Social Sciences or a related field. You will bring previous HR Advisory experience gained in a fast‑paced, evolving environment, with a results‑focused approach. A CIPD Level 5 qualification is preferred, although Level 3 may be considered with strong demonstrable experience.
You will have experience partnering with managers and employees, with the confidence to influence and challenge appropriately. Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a proactive approach to problem‑solving are essential. You will be comfortable interpreting HR data and metrics to identify trends and communicate insights clearly.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a good command of English and proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint and intermediate Excel). Experience with Oracle or iTrent is advantageous. Attention to detail, analytical capability, autonomy and professional credibility will all support your success in this role.
Above all, you will bring enthusiasm for working in a busy HR Advisory environment and a collaborative mindset that aligns with our UK‑wide HR team.
Note: We offer hybrid working options with the expectation of attending the office 3 days per week. For our Warrington office, it’s likely the successful candidate will need to be able to drive to the office due to the location.
