The opportunity:
Joining a department that is friendly and fast paced, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Guidewire platform.
You will use agile and lean methods and be a creative problem-solver as part of a cross-functional team, caring deeply about writing good code and constantly strive to enhance the user experience, possessing a strong desire to keep up to date with the latest development techniques.
You will steer the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications by providing advanced technical insight and business acumen to the team.
What you’ll be doing:
* Coach and mentor the development team, ensuring the complete, efficient delivery of solutions
* Design robust architecture and oversee the development and unit testing of application software across multiple technologies
* Establish and advocate for best practices and design patterns, ensuring high quality of software products and reducing maintenance needs
* Customizing Claim Centre: Writing code to add features that arent available through configuration
* Integrating with other systems: Developing integrations between Claims Centre and other systems, such as PAS, document management systems, and third-party data providers
* Optimizing performance: Ensuring Guidewire applications run efficiently at scale
* Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing technical issues
* Monitoring the Claims Centre platform, including but not limited to:
* Identifying requirements for specific alerts o Creating alerts for events and thresholds
* Accessing Datadog logs and dashboards for error analysis
* Monitoring DXC downtime and communicating to users
* You will play a pivotal role in updating the platform, including but not limited to:
* Performing a 3-way merge of the updated code
* Validating the updated version
* Adopting new features added in the update
Our must-haves:
* Proven team lead experience as a key member of a passionate development team
* Experience of Guidewire development (ClaimCenter preferred)
* Experience of coding RESTful APIs
* Coding in multiple programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, etc
* Experience with relational databases and SQL – MS SQL Server & Transact SQL proficiency preferred
* Expertise in the end-to-end design and development of business database application
* In-depth understanding of design thinking and customer-centric development
* An understanding of insurance systems, claims and underwriting, experience working in a Speciality Commercial Insurance business is advantageous
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or equivalent experience
* Guidewire ACE certified Skills
