You have an opportunity to be part of this, in the role of Neighbourhood Sustainability Officer. We are looking for a confident and ambitious individual to help deliver on our environment and sustainability strategy, primarily working within (but not limited to) the North locality within Doncaster. This post will be a part of a team that supports the communities of Doncaster, to improve home energy efficiency and provide valuable information, advice and guidance as part of the council’s environmental sustainability service area. We have a number of large-scale initiatives aimed at improving the energy efficiency of our homes, with a drive to implement these improvements across the borough. We believe that the work undertaken within this service area will be both exciting and rewarding by improving our buildings, reducing home energy use and supporting the wellbeing of our residents, whilst progressing the city's ambitions to reduce emissions. The Neighbourhood Sustainability Officer will support residents through the onboarding of grants and will help to deliver a boiler replacement programme, aimed at members of the public with health conditions. The post holder will be required to carry out dwelling, health, and financial assessments to ensure tailored and effective support is provided to residents. Domestic Energy Assessments may be required in some circumstances, and candidates will need to demonstrate a willingness to achieve the DEA level 3 qualification where this is not in place already. These duties and responsibilities should be regarded as neither exclusive nor exhaustive as the post holder may be required to support and deliver other community-focused sustainability initiatives within the service area, commensurate with the grading of the post. The ideal candidate will be well-organised and flexible, with excellent communication skills and the ability to process sensitive information in line with General Data Protection Regulations. You should also be confident, outgoing, non-judgemental and resilient. Experience in community engagement, and the use of digital tools such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and databases is essential.
