The role involves preparing metal components and structures through abrasive blasting to meet required surface finish and coating specifications, ensuring high quality and safety standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
* Carry out shotblasting / grit blasting of steel and engineered components.
* Inspect workpieces for cleanliness, surface profile, and defects.
* Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment.
* Mask and protect areas not to be blasted.
* Handle and recycle blasting media safely and efficiently.
* Follow engineering drawings, job cards, and technical specifications.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Work closely with paint and coating teams to meet production schedules.
* Comply with health, safety, environmental, and COSHH regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
* Following procedures.
* Willingness to learn.
* Basic knowledge of coating systems and why profiles matter.
* Awareness of corrosion types.
