Marketing Executive
Thomas Telford is the knowledge business of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), creating specialist products and services for the civil engineering and construction markets. These include the bestselling NEC® suite of contracts and guides. We also provide a recruitment service with the ICE Recruit job board and technical training and accreditation for ICE members and those in the wider construction sector.
The Role:
The Thomas Telford Ltd (TTL) is seeking a Marketing Executive to support TTL’s UK and international marketing strategy to drive growth in customer acquisition and retention. This includes customer relationship building activities to encourage product adoption and usage, as well as e-commerce operations to deliver sales of contracts and training courses. Create, implement and optimise impactful campaigns that drive market penetration and strengthen relationships with clients and users.
Key Accountabilities:
* Execute multi-channel campaigns aligned with business objectives.
* Implement marketing activities to encourage TTL product adoption.
* Tailor content marketing programs (newsletters, whitepapers, case studies, videos, webinars).
* Manage TTL social media presence and LinkedIn user groups.
* Segment data to target campaigns to specific sectors and personas.
* Implement onboarding and engagement processes.
* Develop marketing plans for international markets, liaising with regional stakeholders.
* Support Sales in engagement and retention strategies, collaborating on customer lifecycle management.
* Build strong relationships with staff, customers, prospects, business partners, and associations.
* Optimise email campaigns to engage audiences and drive conversions.
* Plan and execute advertising across paid search and social media.
* Increase online product sales through targeted initiatives.
* Schedule delegate acquisition activities aligned with the training course calendar.
* Plan and implement marketing campaigns for client events and conferences.
* Track metrics and KPIs to measure campaign success.
* Utilise A/B testing to identify best-performing campaign elements.
* Create impactful messaging that addresses customer needs and pain points.
* Represent NEC brand, products, and services at key events.
Skills and Experience:
* Knowledge of email and CRM systems (Campaign Monitor, Salesforce)
* Understanding of marketing automation tools and lead scoring
* Hands-on digital marketing channels expertise (email, SEO, PPC, social media)
* Strong copywriting and editing skills.
* Ability to simplify complex information.
* Understanding of subscription-based B2B information services
* Organise and execute projects on time and within budget.
* Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
* Excellent written English and communication skills
* Highly self-motivated and intuitive with great attention to detail
* Proven experience in a marketing role, preferably in B2B information
* Experience using email marketing platforms, plus other digital channels.
* Experience in campaign tracking, reporting and analytics
Qualifications:
* Educated to degree level.
* Preferably a professional qualification in marketing or business – MBA, CIM, IDM
