This role is central to our ambition to be a good neighbour and to maintain an effective, honest, and regular dialogue with communities, while we build and operate the power station while respecting and protecting local culture and the Welsh language. Our relationship with the people of Anglesey will help to shape the project; maximising the benefits for the communities closest to the project, and will help us to understand, and work together on any issues.

We are seeking an energetic, self-starting and proactive Regional Communications and Stakeholder Manager. Day-to-day, the role-holder will manage relationships throughout the community, with public representatives including members of Parliament, Senedd members, local councillors, and community councils. They will frequently engage with senior‑level people at key stakeholder organisations.

The role-holder will be responsible for developing and managing the projects Information Centre, overseeing events and other outreach activity, representing the project at third‑party events and responding to questions from the community quickly and consistently.

The role is hybrid, based between home and GBE‑Ns offices at Wylfa site, working throughout the community, with occasional travel to Warrington and London. Within the wider Communications team, there will be regular opportunities to collaborate with colleagues on projects across internal communication, brand, broader national and political stakeholder engagement, media, and digital communications.

The role will sometimes require working out-of-normal hours, for example at community events, or consultation sessions in the evenings or at weekends.

Day to Day Duties:

* Manage the relationship with and budget for the appointed external agency providing communications and engagement support.
* Develop an Information Centre provision at Wylfa site, developing the experience stakeholders visiting our project offices.
* Organise public meetings, consultation events, and exhibitions.
* Represent the project and work with GBE‑Ns stakeholders at all levels. Make sure that, helping to build a relationship with the communities local to its Wylfa site.
* Keep communities updated through events and newsletters, responding sensitively and diligently to feedback and questions that communities have about the project proposals.
* Work closely with and build good relationships throughout GBE‑N, particularly to support colleagues, for example in our engineering, skills, lands, and sustainability teams, to engage effectively with stakeholders.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

* Fluency in Welsh and English.
* Professional writing skills in Welsh and English.
* Current, full driving licence, with own transportation.
* Five years experience in a community engagement / public relations role or equivalent relevant experience.
* Digital media skills, including websites and social media.
* Event planning and management skills.
* Excellent organisational and multi‑tasking abilities.
* Creative thinking and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to self‑start, and work both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in the energy and / or infrastructure sector.
* Experience of public consultation supporting projects going through a planning process.
* A good level of familiarity with common communications tools and platforms.


Qualifications:

* A degree in a relevant subject such as journalism, public relations, communications, or English.
