Description of role: We are currently seeking to expand our in-house software capability, and a vacancy has arisen for role of full stack software developer (C#, .NET, React). We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our small team of developers. The right candidate for this role will be passionate, driven, and product-focused, with excellent communication skills and proven experience delivering commercial projects. Working independently and as part of a team, your role will be to design, build, and maintain software solutions for the web, while also helping to maintain our existing desktop products – Though previous desktop experience is not essential for this role. You will work closely with the product owner to turn user requirements into new and bespoke features using agile development methodologies and contribute towards the future direction of our software products. A desire for further technical and professional advancement would be considered favourably, and candidates should demonstrate innovation and creativity with a genuine desire to explore new and emerging technologies. These technologies underpin TWI’s expertise in delivering inspection solutions for industries such as Aerospace, Wind, Rail, Nuclear, etc. covering advanced composites and other materials. Essential skills: Strong knowledge of React, Typescript, CSS, and front-end web development. Strong knowledge of C#, SQL, database design, and .NET Core REST API. Familiarity with version control tools (Git). Experience designing scalable software using recognised patterns. Highly desirable: Experience developing software for the Windows desktop (WPF, WinForms). Familiarity with unit testing frameworks. Knowledge of issue tracking systems (JIRA) and agile methodologies.
