We are currently seeking a Principal Pharmacist for Infection Management to join our dedicated pharmacy team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced pharmacist to play a pivotal role in managing infection control strategies and delivering expert pharmaceutical care within the Trust.
As part of your role, you will also be involved in clinical governance, education and training, audit, and research initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of highly skilled professionals in a fast-paced and varied environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop infection management services within the Trust
* Provide expert advice and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on the appropriate use of antimicrobials
* Ensure the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines across the Trust
* Support infection prevention and control initiatives
* Ensure compliance with national and local guidelines
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Educated to Degree or Masters level in Pharmacy
* Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)
* Postgraduate qualification relevant to hospital pharmacy practice
* Leadership / Management qualification relevant to the NHS or equivalent management qualification or experience
* Registered Pharmacy non-medical prescriber
* Significant experience in a senior hospital pharmacy management role and significant clinical experience in Infection Management
* Proven leadership skills
* Able to demonstrate effective management and leadership of staff
* Analytical and judgement skills
Desirable:
* Postgraduate qualification in Microbiology / Infection Management
