I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and consistent growth. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and clinical experts, joining an organization known for its collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position, remote, focusing on the UK/western European territory. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the region, selling full CRO services.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Developing and implementing business strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a sales pipeline and generate RFPs from qualified potential clients
* Using Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities
* Leading the sales process for generated and received leads
* Managing proposal development to meet client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Providing input to marketing strategies
* Contributing to sales targets and plans based on industry knowledge
* Supporting pre-sales activities and securing resources
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Collaborating with research staff to maximize sales opportunities
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities
