General Manager – Crystal Care Collection

The Role

We are currently recruiting a General Manager to take overall responsibility and manage all aspects of the day‑to‑day running of the home. You will promote a caring environment which provides Residents with a high standard of specialised personal care, meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity. You will ensure rights to privacy, independence and choice are met.

You will supervise, monitor and evaluate the care delivered to Residents, checking that legal requirements are met along with the highest standard as expected within the Care Home.


Key Responsibilities

* Manage the day‑to‑day running of all aspects of the home including standards and quality of care, recruitment and training, communication with the team, premises and financial matters.
* Recognise and assess individuals’ needs, involving relevant professional agencies and relatives where needed, and formulate personalised care plans.
* Provide the highest level of personal care and attention to Residents, following individual care plans and ensuring all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements relevant throughout the home.
* Administer medication to Residents as prescribed, maintain accurate records, order, check in and control stock of prescribed medication, and manage all products.
* Be an active and encouraging Manager, establishing effective communication and good relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external.
* Recruit suitable team members, conduct effective inductions and CIS training, identify and meet training needs, carry out regular supervisions and lead team meetings.
* Organise the team, arrange rotas, employ adequate staff and manage team absence.
* Control and monitor the budget and expenditure, prepare monthly cash flow reports for the Directors and record all financial information accurately.
* Support Residents with their personal financial arrangements, maintaining confidentiality.
* Market, promote and sell the Home.
* Deal with prospective Residents, provide information and guided tours, assess new Residents, negotiate fees, welcome new Residents, complete records and paperwork and ensure adequate arrangements for each Resident.


Essential Skills

* Ability to control and manage budgets and accounts.
* Knowledge of the principles of sales and marketing.
* Skilled in recruitment, selection and retention of staff.
* Committed to a structured approach to training and development of staff.
* Understanding of the Health & Social Care Act and Health & Safety legislation.
* Leadership qualities, enthusiasm, influencing and motivational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Professional, confident and warm personality.
* Have a caring disposition, reliable and punctual.


Desirable Skills

* Understanding of Bognor Regis local authority.
* Experience with regulatory bodies.
* Knowledge of Person Centred Software (PCS).


Hours Of Work

Your hours of work will be 09.00 – 17.00, Monday to Friday with an element of flexibility as and when required. This will equate to 40 hours per week in total.

Experience

* Care home: 5 years (preferred).
* Management: 2 years (preferred).
