The National aHUSService is a highly specialised service that coordinates the management of patients with this rare disease. It is the only service of this kind in the country offering advice, tests and treatment to both adults and children in England and Scotland. The aHUSservice delivers a fully integrated care pathway to patients referred to us on a shared care basis.
The aHUSservice spans adults, paediatric and transitional nephrology care. Referrals to the aHUSservice average 300 per year; some patients will receive lifelong treatment and remain under the shared care of the aHUSservice. A large cohort will receive genetic testing, family member testing and counselling.
