The Role:
1. Assisting with the management of the school’s IT network and systems
2. Leading on IT troubleshooting, security, and upgrades
3. Supporting staff and students with IT solutions across departments
Qualifications
4. IT-related degree or equivalent vocational certification (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft Fundamentals)
5. Safeguarding training (desirable, or willingness to obtain)
Essential Experience
6. Windows Server 2016/2019 administration, including Hyper-V virtualization
7. Active Directory/Office 365 user/group management and Azure AD integration
8. Network infrastructure maintenance (TCP/IP, DHCP, wireless systems)
9. AV equipment support (projectors, interactive screens, digital signage)
10. Educational environment experience (or transferable sector skills)
Technical Competencies
11. Group Policy configuration and troubleshooting
12. Helpdesk systems for task prioritization and resolution tracking
13. Backup solutions (e.g., VEEAM) and disaster recovery testing
14. Device management (Windows 10/11, iPads, 1:1 laptop deployments)
15. MIS support (e.g., ISAMS, Firefly)
Key Responsibilities
16. Onsite IT leadership: Primary contact for staff/student technical issues
17. Infrastructure upgrades: Assist with WIFI rollouts and hardware refresh cycles
18. Apprentice supervision: Delegate tasks and provide skills mentoring
19. Asset management: Maintain inventory and WEEE-compliant disposals
20. KCSIE compliance: Ensure filtering/monitoring systems protect students
Personal Attributes
21. Adaptive communicator: Translate technical concepts for non-specialists
22. Proactive problem-solver: Diagnose hardware/software faults efficiently
23. Collaborative approach: Work with SLT on strategic IT planning
24. Resilience: Manage competing priorities during peak periods (e.g., exams)

25. PowerShell scripting for automation tasks
26. Aruba switching/Barracuda firewall experience
27. Intune/Autopilot device provisioning
28. Papercut print management systems
