With over 40 years of heritage and offices in London, Oxford, and Doha, we blend creative flair with strategic insight to deliver extraordinary experiences — from global sales kick-offs and product launches to immersive brand activations.


We’re now investing in the next phase of growth for our Events division — expanding our work across corporate, brand, and live experiential projects — and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help us get there.

WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES


As Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the growth of WMP’s events portfolio. Your focus will be identifying and converting new opportunities with corporate and brand clients — building strong relationships, developing compelling proposals, and helping position WMP as a leading creative events agency in the UK market.


The Role

* Prospect & Build Relationships: Identify new business opportunities and develop strong connections with decision-makers.
* Client Engagement: Book and attend meetings to uncover client needs, building credibility and trust throughout the sales journey.
* Proposal Development: Work alongside our Client Services team to create compelling, tailored responses to briefs.
* Winning New Business: Lead the sales process from first contact to closing, ensuring consistent pipeline growth and successful conversions.
* CRM Management: Maintain up-to-date records of activity, insights, and opportunities to support sales tracking and reporting.
* Market Insight: Keep up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and market shifts to inform WMP’s go-to-market strategy.
* Collaboration with Marketing: Work with the Marketing team to plan campaigns, case studies, and social content that generate qualified leads.
* Event Attendance: Represent WMP at key industry events, awards, and networking forums to raise the profile of the agency.
* Pitch Strategy: Contribute to pitch strategy and storytelling to help differentiate WMP from competitors.
* Revenue Tracking: Support the Head of Events in forecasting and reporting on sales pipeline and conversion metrics.


The Person

* Network: A well-connected individual with strong relationships within the events and marketing industries (brand, agency, and venue side).
* Ambition: Motivated by growth, targets, and playing a visible role in shaping the agency’s future success.
* Storytelling: Able to articulate WMP’s offer in a compelling way across different client sectors.


* Event Industry Experience: A deep understanding of the events space, ideally with client-facing experience.
* Sales Success: Proven B2B business development experience, with a track record of winning and growing large corporate accounts.
* Exceptional Communication: Clear, confident, and persuasive communication – both written and verbal – with a natural ability to build rapport.
* Strategic Mindset: Ability to assess opportunities, craft smart solutions, and pitch ideas that resonate with clients.
* Digital Fluency: Comfortable using LinkedIn and other platforms to build visibility, generate leads, and support outbound strategy.


Skills:

* Exceptional organisational skills and focus, able to prioritise and manage multiple campaigns and projects
* Excellent copywriting skills and attention to detail
* Experience of working with CRM platforms, we use Daylite
* Able to manage time effectively and work to deadlines
* Confidence to network in different environments



THE PACKAGE



SALARY: Competitive base + performance based commission

DURATION: Preference of Full time. Open to 3-4 days a week.

HOLIDAY: Pro Rata based on 25 days PA

FLEXIBLE HOURS & WORKING: Flexibility for early or late starts and remote working

LOCATION: Hybrid working - 3/4 days per week in our London office in Fulham Broadway
