This role is focused on an in-office position supporting the outsourced team and the cloud team manager.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assist with managing offshoring bookkeepers, including updating work programs and monitoring budgets.
2. Run monthly/weekly reports to track team progress on VAT returns, MOSS returns, YE accounts, and bookkeeping deadlines.
3. Review and file VAT returns.
4. Stay knowledgeable about MTD and HMRC VAT regulations, keeping up to date with any changes.
5. Coordinate with PAs when year-end accounts are ready for booking.
6. Respond to bookkeepers’ queries and liaise directly with clients.
7. Ensure deadlines are met through proper planning.
8. Optimize bookkeeping efficiency by following and improving the efficiency checklist.
9. Review bookkeeping work for accuracy, provide training to learn from mistakes, and ensure postings are correct.
Experience Required:
Proficiency in Xero, with certification. Experience preparing VAT returns using various VAT schemes. Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge, with the ability to train others. Knowledge of Dext Prepare is preferred.
Skills Required:
ACCA/AAT qualification or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles.
