Women’s Aid South Lanarkshire and East Renfrewshire (WASLER) have delivered domestic abuse services across South Lanarkshire for more than 30 years. We provide an outstanding level of service to support women, children, and young people who have experienced or are currently experiencing domestic abuse.
We are seeking to recruit a suitably experienced, qualified, and skilled woman to fulfill the role of Refuge Support Worker.
The Refuge Support Worker will provide high-quality, specialist support to women living in Refuge, ensuring their safety and recovery. Applicants must be qualified to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant qualification and registered (or willing to register) with SSSC. Additional Information
This role involves offering practical and emotional support to women who have experienced domestic abuse. Support is provided to women in safe accommodation and through outreach services. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience supporting vulnerable clients and hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to undertake this upon completion of probation.
The vacancy offers a full-time equivalent salary of £29,502 per annum (£16.21 per hour), plus a 4% contributory pension. Additional benefits include access to an employee assistance program and healthcare scheme. The role involves participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota (once every 6-7 weeks), which attracts additional payment.
Candidates should have experience supporting children and young people, demonstrate a gender-based analysis of domestic abuse, be motivated, able to work under pressure, and possess a suitable qualification for SSSC Housing Support registration.
