Estimator/Quantity Surveyor Commercial refurbishment Central London
We are currently working with a Main Contractor with proven success across the UK specialising across a variety of sectors including commercial offices for both developers and tenants; retail, leisure and hospitality facilities; education schemes; and residential schemes for both developers and private owners.
Due to Extended growth, they are now seeking an experienced commercially astute Estimator with strong Quantity Surveying capabilities to support both pre- and post-contract phases of a high-profile commercial refurbishment project.
Responsibilities
Pre-Contract Estimating & Tender Preparation:
Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and site visits, contributing to tender submissions and value engineering proposals.
Transition to Post-Contract QS Duties:
Seamlessly step into a QS role post-award, supporting contract administration, cost reporting, and project financial control through to final account.
Subcontractor Engagement & Package Analysis:
Assist in procurement by issuing enquiries, conducting take-offs, analysing returns, and helping to negotiate subcontractor terms to secure best value.
Cost Control & Commercial Reporting:
Monitor project costs against budgets, assist with forecasting and monthly cost reporting, and highlight any commercial risks or opportunities as they arise.
Change Management & Valuations:
Support the assessment and valuation of variations, manage change processes, and assist in the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.
Requirements
Must have 4+ years experience in a relevant role
Main Contractor experience is desired
Successful candidates will have relevant degree level qualification
