The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Tax Assistant to join the Financial Services Employment Tax team in our Canary Wharf office. EY offers excellent opportunities to build client relationships early in your career and to be involved in the day‑to‑day management and delivery of our services across a broad range of issues, extending beyond traditional tax compliance and advisory work.
This is an entry‑level role, and we’re ideally looking for someone with a Finance degree who is currently working in a finance‑focused role and feels ready for their next step. The successful candidate will also be supported in working towards their ATT qualification.

Your key responsibilities
1. Supporting the management of client portfolios
2. Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering consistently high levels of service
3. Contributing to the successful delivery of employment tax projects and ensuring technical accuracy
4. Supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of both compliance and advisory work
5. Assisting with business development by proactively managing existing client relationships
6. Ensuring adherence to Quality and Risk Management processes
Skills and Attributes for Succes
7. Prior experience working in a finance role
8. A Finance or Law degree (desired)
9. Enthusiastic and energetic, with the ability to embrace new ways of working
10. A strong team player, able to integrate quickly with new teams
11. Outgoing, with strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to deliver high‑quality work
12. Strong technical aptitude with a willingness to develop further
13. Ability to build strong and trusted client relationships

17. Strong relationship‑management skills with the ability to manage client expectations
